The Education Alliance
offers several opportunities for learning through Family Literacy.
Read
to Me! Day—A national celebration of reading in which the West Virginia
Library Commission and The Education Alliance work together to bring
hundreds of volunteer readers into schools, day care centers and libraries
in West Virginia to share in special literacy activities.
The
Greatest Gifts You Can Give Your Baby—Information on the importance of
reading to infants and suggested titles of books. Reading aloud to your
infant is an important building block in the development of your child’s
literacy traits. (Click here to download this

Book
Trunks—Working as a library system, trunks with up to 110 books are
loaned out for up to three months to teachers of K-8 classrooms in West
Virginia public schools.
