First Lady Gayle Manchin graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Raleigh County. She has made education a priority in the Mountain State.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Anna Green McCloy, a recent graduate of Grafton High School in Taylor County, represented West Virginia with great poise during the recent tragedy at Sago Mine.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Henry Louis Gates Jr. emerged from Mineral County, West Virginia, to become one of the leading black scholars in the nation. He was born in Piedmont in 1950, the son of Henry Louis Gates Sr. and Pauline Augusta Coleman Gates. 

 

For health reasons, Dr. Gates will not be able to attend.
