The Family
Involvement Grant criteria are based on the
national standards for Family Involvement programs.
Your proposed Family Involvement program must be a new
project, not a continuation of an existing project. The
project idea should be a collaborative process, encouraging multiple school
groups to work together. The project should be designed to continue beyond
the duration of the grant. Teachers, family members, and students need to be
actively involved in the project.
Grant applications must address how the project will reach families
isolated by socio-economic conditions AND at least four of the following six
standards:
Communicating
Consistent,
two-way communication between home and school is initiated or strengthened.
Parenting
Parenting skills
are promoted and supported.
Student Learning
Families play an
integral role in assisting student learning.
Volunteering
Families are
welcome in the school and their assistance and support are encouraged.
School Decision Making
Families are full
partners in the decisions that affect children and families.
Community Collaboration
Community
resources are used to strengthen schools, families, and student learning.
