To formalize your school-business partnership, you will need to obtain an official Beginning Partnership Certificate from The Education Alliance and plan a signing ceremony.  Signing ceremonies are often held at school assemblies, PTO meetings and other special functions.

This is the initial certificate provided to every new partnership.  Partnerships already having a certificate under the old program will not be issued a new Beginning Partnership Certificate to replace their old certificate.

This feature is available to all K - 12 principals in public schools throughout West Virginia.  If you do not have or have not received your user name and password to enter this site, please contact Tammy Thomas.

Existing partnerships which have a Beginning Certificate may apply for the Intermediate or Advanced Certificate, using the criteria below.

Intermediate Partnership Certificate
Any partnership in existence at least one year is eligible to apply for a prestigious Intermediate Partnership Certificate. To apply, a partnership simply faxes a one-page summary outlining activities it is currently doing that correlate to the attributes of an Intermediate Partnership described on page 16. A cover sheet faxed along with
the summary must include contact information (name of school, name of business partner, address and phone number for both, as well as the contact names for the school and the business) and signatures of the school’s principal, a business partner representative and the county superintendent. Partnerships must fax the cover sheet and summary to The Education Alliance at (304) 342-0046 to be considered for this certificate.

Advanced Partnership Certificate
Any partnership holding an Intermediate Certificate for at least one year or any partnership in existence for at least three years is eligible to apply for the prestigious Advanced Partnership Certificate. This certificate means that your partnership is focused on academics and is clearly one of America’s most exemplary school-business partnerships. This level of partnership should be mentoring other partnerships, helping them to focus on academics and student achievement. To apply, a partnership must submit a two-page summary outlining the activities it is currently doing that correlate to the attributes of an Advanced Partnership described on page 16. A cover sheet attached to the summary must include contact information (name of school, name of business partner, address and phone number for both, as well as the contact names for the school and the business) and signatures of the school’s principal, a business partner representative and the county superintendent. Partnerships should fax the cover sheet and summary to The Education Alliance at (304) 342-0046 to be considered for the Alliance’s most coveted partnership certificate.
